RESPONSE representatives participated in the HARMON 2 project meeting, building synergies and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and collaboration. The meeting also served as a platform to share best practices, lessons learned, and to strengthen partnerships.
HARMON 2 (2024–2025) is an Interreg Danube Region project titled “Addressing Capacity Building Needs for Mainstreaming Biodiversity in the Transport Sector of the Danube Region.” It addresses a critical gap identified in previous initiatives: the lack of integrated expertise among key stakeholders necessary to incorporate biodiversity considerations into the transport sector.
With similar objectives, HARMON 2 promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration by developing a training curriculum in partnership with universities and professional practitioners. This curriculum will form part of a hub for practical, integrated education focused on biodiversity in infrastructure planning. Its goal is to ensure that future professionals enter the workforce equipped to meet the challenges of biodiversity-conscious transport development—helping to make sustainable infrastructure a reality across the Danube region.
