The Black Sea NGO Network RESPONSE team took part in the Training Course of the of the Black Sea SIERRA project held in Varna, Bulgaria 13 -15 July 2026. The event was organized by the local partner, the Institute of Oceanology at the Bulgarian Academy of Science.
Two RESPONSE major outputs were highlighted: creating and testing innovative training programs for monitoring and managing traditional and war-related marine pollution in the Black Sea with focus on the RESPONSE project Digital Toolkit; and the RESPONSE Regional Action Plan for Capacity Building on Marine Pollution Emergency Preparedness and Response, an instrument integrating capacity building into the Black Sea stakeholders’ operational agendas. The round-table discussion outlined topics and guidelines for strengthening the synergy between the two flagship EMFAF projects.
