On January 27, 2025, the National Institute for Marine Research and Development \u201cGrigore Antipa\u201d in Constan\u021ba, Romania, successfully organized a national workshop for the co-creation of an advanced training curriculum focused on the monitoring, reporting, management, and mitigation of marine pollution. The event brought together key stakeholders involved in responding to marine pollution incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 29 participants were introduced to the objectives of the RESPONSE project and gained insights into the current state of marine pollution in the Black Sea region, along with the associated challenges. Stakeholders shared their experiences and expertise regarding existing preparedness and response protocols, identified significant gaps, and raised concerns about the inadequacy or absence of response mechanisms and training frameworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to further discussions and collaboration at the upcoming Regional Co-Creation Workshop, scheduled for late February in Constan\u021ba. This event will bring together regional stakeholders to review progress and refine strategies for enhancing marine pollution response efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
